Assign to a Project & Room
Choose where clipped items land — pick the right project and room before you clip.
Choosing where items land
Every clipped item needs a project. Rooms are optional but they keep things tidy — especially when you're sourcing for a whole house or a multi-room renovation.
01
Select a project
The Project dropdown in the extension shows all your projects. If a project has a client name, it shows as "Project Name — Client Name". The extension remembers your last-used project, so repeat clips go to the same place.
02
Pick a room (optional)
If the selected project has rooms, the Room dropdown populates with them. Select one to file the item straight into that room. The default is "No room assigned" — you can always drag items into rooms later from the dashboard.
03
Clip
Hit Clip to Focalist. The confirmation message tells you exactly which project the item was added to.
Set up your rooms in the dashboard before a sourcing session. That way the Room dropdown is ready when you're clipping and you don't have to reorganise later. Learn how in Create and manage rooms.
Changing assignments later
Clipped something into the wrong project or room? No stress — open the item on the dashboard, click the Edit button (pencil icon), and change the assignment. You can also drag items between rooms directly.
