Clipping Products

Clip Your First Product

Save a product from any online store into your Focalist project.

Clipping a product from a webshop

The Focalist extension scrapes product details from whatever page you're on — name, price, brand, image, even the supplier. You review, pick a project, and clip. The whole thing takes about five seconds.

01

Browse to a product page

Go to any online store and open a product you want to save. Works with furniture shops, lighting stores, fabric suppliers — basically anything with a product page.
02

Open the extension

Click the Focalist icon in your Chrome toolbar. The extension popup opens with the product details already filled in — name, price, brand, and an image preview.
03

Pick a project

Select the project you want to clip this item into from the Project dropdown. If you've only got one project, it'll be pre-selected.
04

Optionally assign a room

If your project has rooms set up, you can assign the item to one from the Room dropdown. You can also skip this and organise later from the dashboard.
05

Click "Clip to Focalist"

Hit the Clip to Focalist button. You'll see a green checkmark and "Clipped! Added to [Project Name]". The popup closes automatically after a moment.
You can star an item as a favourite before clipping — click the star icon next to the Clip button. Handy for marking your top picks for a client.

What if something wasn't scraped correctly?

The auto-detection works well on most stores, but it's not magic. If the name, price, or brand is wrong, just edit the fields before clipping. Learn more about what gets auto-detected in the next lesson.
